UPLB produces new environmental planners

The results of the June 2018 Environmental Planner (EnP) Licensure Examination has earned for UPLB its most number of licensed professionals in the field since 2016.

One hundred fifteen of its 139 takers passed the exam, giving UPLB a passing rate of 82.73%. Leading UPLB’s new environmental planners is tenth placer, Theresa Jane G. Cajarte, at 80.80%.

The national passing rate is 39.99%, with 1,891 passers out of 4,729 examinees in the country.

A number of examinees from UPLB who graduated in BS Human Ecology, a program that has a major option in human settlements planning (HSP), take the exam each year. Graduates of other courses specified in the Environmental Planning Act of 2013 also take the EnP exam.

The Department of Community and Environmental Resource Planning of the College of Human Ecology, the home unit of HSP, offers the Short Course on Environmental Planning. It serves, among others, as a refresher course for professionals who take the EnP exam. (Mark Jayson E. Gloria, with reports from y34)
